Opening of Vocational Training Center
According to information, there are about 3500 intellectually disabled children in Tumkur district and there are no vocational training centers for them. It has been 35 years since the Manasa School was started in Tumkur and there are 100 specially abled children, out of which about 30 are above the age of 18.
The parents of all these children over the age of 18, came together and decided to start a training center. Hence, the Vocational training center for the intellectually disabled was launched on Sunday, 4/5/2025.
The people who supported this project are the management of Manasa Special School, Mr. V.S. Basavaraju, former Disability Commissioner, Shrushti Academy - Bangalore, Diya Foundation and mother's of all the specially abled children, their determination to do something for our children.
